Meeting Location:
The exit of Bromley-by-Bow underground station is on a narrow footpath that quickly becomes congested, and so we shall meet in a square on the opposite side of the road to the station (2 mins walk). After you exit the ticket barriers of the station you will see stairs on your left. At the bottom of the stairs there is a subway on your right that goes under the busy A12 road and takes you to the meeting point.

Things that I usually consider for my walks:
- Food and drink to get through the walk.
- Water: Aleast two litres.
- Day rucksack: That is comfortable to wear and allows free arm movements.
- Walking Boots: waterproof and breathable. trainers are OK if the ground is dry.
- Gaiters: recommended for wet weather conditions.
- Socks: proper walking socks to keep your feet dry and help prevent blisters.
- Layered clothing: helps to quickly adapt to changes in the weather and body temperature. A base layer (vest or t-shirt) and a mid layer (a micro fleece or shirt) and in cooler weather additional outer layer (a windproof jacket or thick fleece)
- Trousers: Ideally no jeans as they become heavy and cold in the rain, breathable fabrics are more comfortable and dry and on warm days shorts are OK.
- Waterproof jacket: An essential in wet weather.
- Hat or cap: stay warm in winter and shaded in summer
- Sunglasses: Essential for any summer walk
- Sun cream: when the weather dictates.
