Meeting time: 10:30 AM.

We will gather for the QG's first walk by the entrance to the Iconic Greenwich foot tunnel next to Cuttysark and head west towards London Bridge where we aim to arrive in approx 2.5hrs covering approx 7 miles. Depending on the interest and weather there’s an option to plunder Borough market for some food before we depart our ways. For those who prefer a shorter walk can make use of the train/tube station along the walk too!

The entire walk will be along the Tamesis witnessing the remains of by gone era, from the glazed architecture of 21st century to half-timbering Tudor, cozy warehouse dwellings once symbolised the colonial trade, spot that set off the pilgrims to the so called free world, beaches of Bermondsey to creeks of Deptford, Rotherhithe tunnel to Tower bridge - Engineering marvels that challenges the time, and many more to spot on the day as we explore together!

Things that I usually consider for my walks:

Food and drink to get through the walk.
Water: Aleast two litres.

Day rucksack: That is comfortable to wear and allows free arm movements.

Walking Boots: waterproof and breathable. trainers are OK if the ground is dry.

Gaiters: recommended for wet weather conditions.

Socks: proper walking socks to keep your feet dry and help prevent blisters.

Layered clothing: helps to quickly adapt to changes in the weather and body temperature. A base layer (vest or t-shirt) and a mid layer (a micro fleece or shirt) and in cooler weather additional outer layer (a windproof jacket or thick fleece)

Trousers: Ideally no jeans as they become heavy and cold in the rain, breathable fabrics are more comfortable and dry and on warm days shorts are OK.

Waterproof jacket: An essential in wet weather.

Hat or cap: stay warm in winter and shaded in summer

Sunglasses: Essential for any summer walk

Sun cream: when the weather dictates.
