MotelX, Lisbon own horror movie festival is showing several queer movies.

The Hunger is widely described as a bisexual and queer classic. In this bisexuality visibility month, I have to see it! The movie will be in English with Portuguese subtitles. Please buy your own ticket. Seats are not numbered, it's first come, first serve.

In his directorial debut, Tony Scott plunges into a hypnotic erotic thriller in which David Bowie, Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon form a dark triangle between vampires and humans. The film opens at London’s legendary Batcave nightclub, to the sound of Bauhaus’ “Bela Lugosi’s Dead”, and turns vam pirism into a metaphor for desire, dependency and bodily decay. Met with mixed reviews at Cannes, The Hunger would later become a cult classic and a styl ish time capsule of the early 1980s, particularly cher ished by the goth subculture. On the brink of the AIDS era, Scott portrays immortality as a failed promise and the body as a site of anxiety and decline. For many, it remains Tony Scott’s (Ridley Scott's brother) masterpiece, and one of the defining films of his career.
