In the past years the Meetup service has greatly deteriorated while the prices went up. The user's satisfaction with it has steadily dropped.

Practically nothing much will change
The events will be listed in a similar manner on http://www.qmeet.nl

Users can continue getting mail and push notifications when new events are published. They can choose to (also) follow via the WhatsApp, Facebook and Signal groups or via Google Calendar.
Organizers will continue to have a single interface they go to in order to create and edit events.

To continue been notified when a new event is scheduled - go to http://www.qmeet.nl , click the button to enable push notifications and/or subscribe via your email address.

WhatsApp community

qMeetNL has an active and vibrant community on WhatsApp.
Some of the events have already moved completely there - the movie club, the Shibari practice, occasional hikes and events in Amsterdam.
Because of it's community and personal nature the WhatsApp groups are better suited to organizing events and keeping the participants involved. While the automated and detached nature of the Meetup experience naturally leads to less involvement and more no-shows.

New channels
Two non-Meta channels to follow qMeet have been added:

• Google calendar
