June 20th 12 - 4pm
At this moment social justice efforts are divided into separate struggles, even though the forces shaping inequality are deeply connected. At the same time, the language of justice and liberation is often used by powerful institutions to present exploitation as progress, especially when it comes to the extraction of land, labor, and resources from foreign nations and domestic communities with limited power to resist.
This workshop will explore why meaningful change requires us to move from organizing as individual movementss to toward a broader coalition for economic and social justice. Together we will piece together how economic and political power shapes our lives and what it takes to build coalitions rooted in solidarity, accountability, and shared purpose.
This workshop is open to all, no prior organizing experience is needed.
