Welcoming Winter Walk at Wunderlich Park (a free community hike)
Wunderlich County Park, 10 Woodside Rd, San Mateo, CA, USWelcoming Winter Walk at Wunderlich Park
Saturday, 12/6 from 1-4PM in Woodside!
Come and enjoy our unique winter along one of the beautiful trails of Wunderlich Park. Activities include a hike, a park museum, crafts, and snacks. Join the San Mateo County Parks, San Mateo County Parks Foundation, Friends of Huddart & Wunderlich Parks, CORA, and San Mateo County Pride Center as we learn about the beauty of the nature around us.
We encourage all attendees to bring a water bottle, wear a hat, closed-toed shoes that can get muddy, and extra clothing layers for the breeze. If it rains, we will still be able to enjoy indoor activities. For more information about the trail we will take, visit: Wunderlich Park Trails | County of San Mateo, CA
RSVP ASAP at https://tinyurl.com/SMCPCWunderlich25
Please let us know if transportation support is needed. For any questions or concerns regarding the event, please contact Cristina P. Vila Ruiz at cristina@supportparks.org and Elana Ron at elana.ron@sanmateopride.org.
Accessibility Information: The hike is 1.7 miles long and follows an easy trail with minimal slope. We will start with a short 0.2-mile section of the Bear Gulch Trail before connecting to the Loop Trail, which continues until we reach the Alambique Trail. The route follows a 12-foot-wide dirt road, providing plenty of space for a large group to walk comfortably together.
Other Activities: We will enjoy some fun crafts like rock painting and explore the beautiful Carriage Room Museum to learn about its history. We will also get to meet Stormy, a friendly miniature horse! Snacks will be provided.
Directions and Parking: Wunderlich County Park is located at 4040 Woodside Road, Woodside, CA 94062. From Highway 280, take Woodside Road (CA-84) west toward the town of Woodside. Continue for about 3 miles — the park entrance will be on your right. There is a small free parking lot near the main trailhead and Carriage House. If the lot is full, please look for a program leader near the disable parking spot to direct you to a permit parking area. We will meet the group in the picnic area adjacent to the parking lot.
Meeting Spot Address: 4040 Woodside Road, Woodside, CA 94062
