Getting Published! Meet authors Paul Taylor-Pitt & Avi Ben-Zeev + Q&A (online)

Details

Interested in getting published? Queer Write welcomes authors Paul Taylor-Pitt and Avi Ben-Zeev to speak about their own pathways and answer questions.

Both are long-term members of this group. Avi specialises in short story and memoir writing. His literary memoir 'Calling My Deadname Home' was published by Muswell Press last autumn. Paul, as well as writing short stories, has his non-fiction book 'Still Here! Still Queer! Now What?', published by Trigger, launching this autumn. Find short bios of both below.

The event will be hosted by me, Caprice Jackson. I'd urge you to book early as places will be limited. There will be a special Zoom link for this event which I'll send to all those who book a 'seat'. Here's the schedule (UK time, all pm):

7.30-7.45 Say hi and introductions
7.45-8.15 Paul and Avi share their author pathways
8.15-9.00 Q&A

Avi Ben-Zeev is a London-based American gay trans man, high school failure and Yale Ph.D. As a writer, psychologist and immigrant, he explores the challenges and freedoms of journeying toward belonging and home. Avi’s stories have won the 2024 London Independent Story Prize (LISP), the UK’s first transgender writing competition, as well as being shortlisted and receiving several other commendations in the UK. Dr. Paul Taylor-Pitt (he/him) is a facilitator, coach and mentor who makes change easy for the individuals, teams and organisations he works with. His first book, 'Still Here! Still Queer! Now What? A Guide To LGBTQ+ Wellness & Wholeness' is coming everywhere this October. He is @showingwhole on all the socials.
