What we’re about
We're a small online collective of queer writers, meeting up to foster a supportive writing community. NEW HOST as of March 2025!
Join us for an inspirational online, prompt-based creative writing experience specifically for queer writers. Now hosted by William M Donnelly.
Will's Writing from the Core class, now in it’s 15th year, joins forces with Meetup to help foster a safe environment for queer people who want to write. It is creative encouragement for experienced writers and non-writers alike.
Class includes a warm up/free form writing session (5 minutes); introductions; inspirational content/quotes; and time permitting 2-3 prompt-based writing sessions of 11-to15 minutes each. Format may adjust to accommodate the group's intentions and desires.

From James Baldwin:
The bottom line is this: You write in order to change the world, knowing perfectly well that you probably can’t, but also knowing that literature is indispensable to the world. In some way, your aspirations and concern for a single man in fact do begin to change the world. The world changes according to the way people see it, and if you alter, even by a millimeter, the way a person looks or people look at reality, then you can change it.
