Updated Information for Tonight's Event
From the Center of the Finger Lakes posted to Facebook on Monday, February 17, 2025:

  • "The outpouring of support from our community has been so clear and we are looking forward to honoring Sam and his family with all of you tonight. Here is our plan for our Trans Resilience Support Night tonight:

-The event will start at 6pm tonight both in-person at Wood Library in Canandaigua and virtually on Zoom
-We are requiring registration for the Zoom Link and it will promptly be sent out at 5:50pm. You can register at this link: https://buff.ly/415hSOE
-For people planning to come in person, we gave a max capacity of around 170 people standing. In the event that we exceed capacity, we will be urging people to gather at Unitarian Universalist Church of Canandaigua. They will be streaming the Zoom Link and can accommodate another 80 people.

Here are the guidelines for the event at the library again:
1.) There are to be no candles or open flames allowed
2.) Space is limited inside
3.) Parking is also very limited -- please do not park in either of the senior housing lots near the Library.
4.) Please do not restrict the use of the library's building for their patrons.
5.) If you are interested in speaking please contact our team: lgbtq@fcsfl.org

Thank you again for this incredible community response. Our goal tonight is to honor Sam and his family the best we can, and be there to support our community as we start to even process the news from last week. We hope to see you there either virtually or in-person, and please remember that we are Family Counseling are here for you."
