QUEER TANGO
Beginner Series
This queer tango class series is perfect for both returning students and curious newcomers ready to step into the embrace. We'll continue building a strong foundation in Argentine tango—reviewing essentials like the walk, cross, and ochos—while expanding our vocabulary with barridas (foot sweeps), molinete (circular turns), cadencia (rocking rhythm), paradas (intentional pauses), and playful sandwichitos.
We'll also begin exploring adornments—the expressive flourishes that let your personal style and musicality shine. And as always, our focus includes the values at the heart of queer tango: role-switching, active following, and collaborative leading.
Open to LGBTQ+ dancers and allies, this class offers a supportive space where you'll deepen your technique, grow your confidence, and discover new ways to connect through the dance.
