Yes, after a hiatus of four months due to surgery, we are back to hiking! Join us for a moderate 4.25 miles, 761 feet in elevation, 2 hour hike of the Indian Trees Open Space Preserve located at the end of Vineyard Road in Novato. The trailhead is located next to the residence 3425 Vineyard Rd where the pavement ends. The photo shows the entrance to the trailhead. Parking is on the trailhead side. At the beginning of the trail, we will take a right on the Upper Meadow Trail, go through the beautiful lower redwood grove of Deer Camp Fire Road, follow the ascending switchbacks to the middle ridge. We will then continue descending on gentle switchbacks as we complete this loop hike. Most of the hike is shaded. Dogs are allowed on a leash.
Bring water, and hiking footwear. Let us know if you are joining us. We value everyone's time. We have a 5 minute wait policy. The hike will begin at 9:05.
Directions: From HWY 101, take the Atherton Ave/San Marin Drive exit. Head west on San Marin Drive. When you cross over Novato Blvd, San Marin Drive becomes Sutro Avenue. At Vineyard Rd take a right. The Trailhead is next to 3425 Vineyard Rd where the pavement ends. Take note of the off street parking pattern.
If you are a first timer on this hike, message me if you have additional questions. Cell service is spotty at the beginning of the trailhead.
