What we’re about

Have you recently decided to quit social media? Or maybe you've never used them? Whatever the case, we would love to hear more about it!

We're a group of students from Södertorn University searching for people who don't use social media for a moderated discussion about their lifestyle.

We're working on a project about creating solutions to the social isolation crisis. We believe that the value of community and the benefits of face-to-face interaction are being lost in today's society. Many studies show that this situation can be linked to the rise of social media. The excessive use of new technologies can make people prioritize online interactions over real-life which can have a negative impact on their mental health.

That's why we want to interview people who try to stay off of them. We'd love to know more about your reasoning and how do you feel about social media generally. We'll discuss the topics of new technology, community and nature.

The discussion will be moderated by me (Alicja) and Viivi in english. We want to keep it chill and casual. There are no right or wrong answers - we want to hear what you have to say and fully understand your point of view. Your identities and all your answers will stay completely confidential, except that anonymous quotes may be used. The data we collect will be used for this research purpose only.

The meeting will be held at Embargo Café & bar in Södermalm, near the Hornstull metro station at 2 PM on Saturday, October 5th (food and drinks not provided). We'll make sure you'll recognize us!

The invitation is open to everyone who feels that they don't use social media. Other than that we're open to everybody and can't wait to meet you!

If you want to contact us or get more information about our project you can contact me on here or contact Viivi at 24vipi@suni.se.

See you there! :)
