Dr. Rex Jalao will share examples of solving Integer Programming (IP) problems in R. IP is one of the many models of Prescriptive Analytics. It is widely used to solve problems in production planning, scheduling, territorial partitioning, and telecommunication network design, among others. IP problems are mathematical optimization or feasibility programs in which some or all of the variables are restricted to be integers, while the objective function and the constraints are still linear.

Dr. Eugene Rex Jalao of the University of the Philippines - Diliman is a professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, an Assistant University Registrar for Academic Information Systems, and an Artificial Intelligence Program Coordinator.
