#129 R for Mathematical Modeling with Real-World Data
Details
Dr. Jomar Fajardo Rabajante is the speaker. "This talk explores how R programming can be used to build mathematical models with real-world data. It focuses on how coding in R helps improve the formulation and analysis of models in areas like epidemiology, environmental science, and economics. By using real datasets, analyzing and visualizing data, and running simulations, the audience will learn how R makes it easier to solve models with differential equations, optimization algorithms, and machine learning. The talk will include practical examples showing how mathematical modeling and data analytics work together to solve real-world challenges."
Dr. Rabajante "is the Dean of the Graduate School, University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). He is a Professor and UP Scientist at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Physics, UPLB. He was awarded as one of the 2021 Outstanding Young Scientists by the National Academy of Science and Technology. He holds an appointment as Junior Associate at the Quantitative Life Sciences Group of the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste Italy. His research interest is mathematical modeling, quantitative risk assessment, and data analytics of complex biological and social systems."
