R Coding Collective

Details

These gatherings (every 4 weeks) serve to to connect and introduce people to each other that use the R programming language for data wrangling, stats analysis, modeling, simulation, visualization, etc. We hope that these gatherings will foster a sense of community where we help each other out with coding and design, exchange ideas and forge collaborations.

The Coding Collective gatherings are for intermediate/experienced R users. We envision this as a flexible gathering: there will be no fixed start or end times, you can drop by any time between 3 and 5 pm (virtual or in-person). No official presentations. The format will be social, sit anywhere, talk to anyone, show your tips and amazing work to anyone. You can also just come and work on your R code, and ask questions whenever they arise.
We might sometimes decide to have a gathering around a theme (e.g. mixed models, visualization, text analysis, occupancy models) or specific packages.

The in-person location is the UFII classroom (CSE building, the glass walled offices facing Turlington Plaza). There will be coffee and snacks for those coming in-person :)
This event is open to everyone, not just those affiliated with UF!
