Rabbit Hole Society

Some of us can’t leave an interesting idea alone.

We want to turn it over. Ask another question. Follow the weird connection. Find out what happens if you look at it from the other direction.

And it’s even more fun when you find someone who wants to play with it too.

Sure, a little chit-chat is fine. Where are you from? What do you do? How do you know so-and-so?

But some of us light up when the conversation moves past the small talk and into something real.

What have you been reading about? What question have you been turning over for three days? What theory are you playing with? What do you know a frankly unnecessary amount about?

That’s what Rabbit Hole Society is for.

Come get a coffee/tea/whatever and talk to people. There’s no topic for the night, no presentation, and nothing you need to prepare.

Bring something you’ve been thinking about lately, or just come curious about what everybody else has been thinking about.

My rabbit hole today: Who am I when I let go of all the stories I've collected about myself? I'm talking about who I used to be, who I thought I'd become, who I believed I should be. How much of my identity is based on things I wanted or needed years ago that may no longer fit? And how do I discover who I actually am, what I want, and what I need now, without letting all those past versions of myself answer for me?

I’m still working this one out. I think it's interesting to talk about, and to hear what other people experience around this.

Tomorrow I’ll probably have a completely different puzzle on my mind.
Yours might be consciousness or crows or a weird bit of history or something that happened to you last week. It might be a question. It might be half an idea that isn’t even a question yet.
