Get ready for our first read about magical books! Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson is still a story about books, but this time the books are alive. Grimoires (books of spells) are powerful in their own right. Rogerson creates a world in which spell books are sentient, sometimes aggressive, evil like the spells they contain, and can even grow into fully mobile monsters. This young adult adventure follows an orphan, Elisabeth Scrivener who is falsely accused of murder; Nathaniel Thorn is the last sorcerer in the House Thorn--infamous necromancers--and Elisabeth's escort to her trial. Nathaniel's demon servant is not what Elisabeth expected. In fact, nothing she's been told seems to be true. Political intrigue in a well crafted world, Sorcery of Thorns is a dark, but perfect summer read. Here's a link for further Goodreads reviews/teasers. I can't wait to discuss this adventure with you!

The first 15 minutes will be more of a getting settled and acquainted. I do appreciate punctuality, but we will adjust the start time if it becomes an issue to arrive before 5pm. Message me and get updates on Rabbit, Read's discord https://discord.gg/UxfqhUWW

Our current host is Farmer Horse Coffee shop. Meetings are every other Monday with a few exceptions for holidays, 430pm-630pm. Please RSVP here. There are only 6 seats available for now due to the shop's size. $5 to join helps offset my costs. Venmo @StephenieKatrina-Pavlovich. Their iced coffee is the best in Boston I've had so far!
