This hike is from the same trailhead as Black Mountain, but is shorter and easier. There is a half mile cement pathway from the park area to the trailhead. Once at the trailhead the hike is 4-5 miles long, putting the total distance at around 6 miles from the car and back. The hike is solidly moderate. We would estimate ~25% of the hike is flat, the rest is relatively steep incline and decline. At the peak is a rocky area that equates to scrambling, but you do not need to actually climb or scale anything. We took it very slow and felt it was safe.

There is a small parking lot that fits 6 cars, but ample parking along the street. There were ~20 cars parked when we went, with more room available. There is unfortunately no bathroom at the trailhead. The trail is clearly marked and well maintained.

Please bring appropriate footwear! There is some gravel/scree on the trail. Guests are welcome, but I have them disabled to preserve RSVP spots. My wife will be there but not RSVP'd to save a spot.
