Intro to Wood Burning: Prepare, sketch and observe

Class Description:
Discover the fascinating world of wood burning in this engaging introductory workshop! You’ll learn how to properly prepare and sand your wood, transfer and sketch your designs, and witness a live demonstration featuring a sample board with 7 different African hardwoods, showcasing their unique textures, colors, and scents. This session is designed to give you a hands-on experience while providing tips and guidance to inspire your own personal wood burning project.

Format: 2-hour interactive workshop with live demonstration and guided practice.

Cost: $50 per participant (includes all materials: wood burners, gloves, wood panels, pencils, transfer paper, sanding materials, and finishing supplies).

Moussa Isamotu is a fresh artist specializing in wood burning and painting. With 20 years of experience in industrial woodworking and modern glazing, he merges technical expertise with artistic creativity. Moussa regularly exhibits his work in Oklahoma and internationally, sharing his knowledge of African hardwoods and pyrography techniques.
