Suminagashi art class (water marbling meditation)
Details
Step into the gentle flow of Suminagashi, the ancient Japanese art of “floating ink”.
In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn to create mesmerizing marbled patterns on water’s surface, guided by breath, presence, and intention. More than a creative technique, Suminagashi invites us into a meditation of letting go—watching as ink and water dance together in ways we cannot fully control.
Through hands-on practice, you’ll explore how to:
- Use water as a mirror for patience, openness, and surrender.
- Connect with the natural rhythm of flow as you create.
- Embrace impermanence and discover beauty in unpredictability.
No artistic experience is required—only curiosity and a willingness to let the process unfold.
You’ll leave with your own unique prints, along with tools to carry this practice of softness, release, and presence into everyday life.
Class cost: $40 (includes supplies)
