Meet the Artist: Maurice Vellekoop – August 10 at RAID Gallery & Cafe!

We’ve extended our summer exhibition, Toronto, A Love-Hate Letter, through September—and to celebrate, we’re hosting a Meet & Greet with the artist, Maurice Vellekoop!

Come spend the afternoon with one of Canada’s most celebrated cartoonists! Maurice will be at the gallery to chat about his process, answer questions, and share insight into his acclaimed graphic memoir, I’m So Glad We Had This Time Together (Penguin Random House), winner of the Toronto Book Award, the Trillium Book Award, and nominated for the 2025 Eisner Award for Best Memoir.

This is a great opportunity to discover more about Maurice's work and the deeply personal stories behind it. Whether you're a fan of comics, memoir, or Toronto history, this exhibit offers a layered look at identity, memory, and the evolving relationship between self and city.
