About our speakers:
Jenna Blumenthal is a backend developer at Shopify on the Amazon channel team, which helps merchants manager their products across the two platforms. Her introduction to software began with a hasty retreat from C in a university physics class, only to return thanks to the fine folks at Ladies Learning Code. Outside of work, she can be found knitting, riding her bike or climbing inside on pretend rocks.
Sam is a full-stack web developer hailing from the deep suburbs of Mississauga. A Ryerson graduate with a passion for psychology, design, and technology, Sam dove head first into a career in web development after finishing her Arts degree at Ryerson. With no prior experience in programming, she jump-started her career by enrolling one of Toronto's first full-time coding bootcamps with HackerYou. Four years later, Sam is now a software engineer at Wealthsimple where she is currently focused on the Wealthsimple for Advisors platform. She spends her spare time loitering in book stores and coffee shops, and volunteering with community organizations like the Rotary Club, and Out of the Cold in Toronto.
