Cycle Ride : Windsor, Dorney & The Pineapple

Easy cycle ride from Uxbridge to Burnham via Eton Dorney. We will pass through the scenic Bucks countryside, mainly along Sustrans Route 61 via village lanes and off road built up tracks. It takes in the Grand Union Canal, Thames Path, and the Jubilee River.
We will explore the Dorney Lake, the Olympic rowing course plus Eton Village with the school and 12th century church. Aiming for pub lunch at the famous Pineapple Inn ,named after the 1st pineapple to be grown in England, in the orchard next door, in 1661.
We then head north, passing Burnham Abbey (may be able to visit the remaining medieval buildings of the Augustinian Order) and on to Burnham station for trains back to London.
Met & Piccadilly lines to Uxbridge. train back from Burnham stops at West Drayton (short ride to Uxbridge if parking at start), Hayes, Ealing and Paddington.
Meet from 10.20am at the Rusty Bike Café, the new West London Cycle hub in Fassnidge Park, Uxbridge, UB8 2UW. £3 meet up fee on the day. A good knowledge of English history is required for event.
