The Neurodiversity Clinic presents: The Neurodivergent Social Club! The Social Club will host unique experiences and events to encourage community connection.

This extra event is a special, one-time, off-site “field trip” for us to go play with therapy horses! Jolene Green, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and certified equine-assisted therapist, invites us for an afternoon social at her barn - open house style - and play date with the ponies. Families/significant others and neurodivergent friends are welcome, too!

This is a non-riding event. Interactive bonding and interoception will be the focus. We will hug, pet, groom, and whisper secrets into long equine ears to our hearts’ content while noticing and reflecting on our embodied experience. Time/capacity-permitting, we might play silly games or challenge ourselves to a lead-walking obstacle course with the herd. Watching horse time from the gallery/sidelines rather than direct participation is also great, and human-only lawn games are available as well.

Please consider wearing closed-toe shoes and full-length pants for safety and generally clothes you don’t mind possibly getting dirty with the donkeys+.

Contact Intern Erin (a horsey pro!) at 801-432-0015 (mention TNC Barn event when you call or text)

The event is free of charge. Thanks, Jolene!

We will sign a standard barn waiver upon arrival.
