Rainbow Family Community

Welcome to Rainbow Family Community! 🌈

I started this community because I care deeply about people having connection and support. Not all of us have the family we hoped for. Some of us have toxic family relationships, no living relatives, have moved far from loved ones, or simply long for a stronger sense of belonging.

This is a place for people who want to build a chosen family.

We believe everyone deserves caring, reliable people they can count on. The kind of people who bring you soup when you're sick, celebrate birthdays and holidays together, help each other through difficult times, share meals, laugh around a campfire, travel together, and build traditions that last for years.

We welcome people of all backgrounds, identities, cultures, beliefs, family structures, and abilities. What matters most is kindness, respect, acceptance, and a willingness to help build this community together.

Our community is location independent. We gather where our members are and where opportunities arise. While members may live in different places, we believe in showing up for one another in person and encourage attending gatherings throughout the year.

Everyone has a voice, everyone contributes, and everyone matters. As our community grows, members will have opportunities to help organize gatherings, trips, celebrations, and other activities.

Once you've been approved as a member, then you'll be added to this private meetup group. We do this to ensure the safety and confidentiality of all our members. Once someone is a member, you will be able to host events, post them, attend, and be privy to sensitive info like people's home address. So we do a full vetting process to make sure we are all on the same page and passionate about building community together.

🌈 This group will always be free to join! If you are able to contribute, Meetup costs about $360/annually, so that's what we've put for the fundraiser amount. Optional donations are always appreciated, but your presence is the best support of all!
