Dorado Station: A 24th Century Gold Rush!

Details

Join GM David in playing Never Stop Blowing Up - a Kids on Bikes hack that is rules-light and narrative driven.

- Concept: In the 24th century, humanity has started exploring the galaxy with faster-than-light travel using warpstone fuel mined at Dorado station in the Proxima system. You and your crew have scraped together some half-decent equipment, booked your first trip out of our solar system, filled out all the appropriate paperwork (in triplicate), and y’all are now finally ready to mine your claim! Unfortunately, a gang of rival prospectors have squatted on your plot, and y’all need to show them who’s boss.
- Aim: Y’all need to start mining warpstone and make this long, expensive trip worth the trouble. Frontier justice is the name of the game down on the planet surface - Take out the rival prospectors, scare them off, or (if you’re desperate) make a deal with them. The choice is yours!
- Tone: Wild West gold rush problems meet near-future solutions. Inspired by sources like The Expanse and Firefly. Gritty survival on a recently discovered and lawless planet, leaning more towards light-hearted and humorous than dark and oppressive.
- Safety Tools: X cards, lines (including racism, sexism, child harm, sexual assault, and trans- and homophobia), and veils (excessive language, violence, sexual, and other content not suitable for a public venue). Additional lines and veils to be finalized by the table.

Warnings: Expect conflict between rival mining factions in a Wild West setting that tends to shoot first and ask questions later. Content warnings: Possible gun violence, attacks by and potential death of humans and local animals, environmental hazards, drug use, and claustrophobia.
