Dark Carnival 2025: Horror at Devil's Run (Dungeons & Dragons 5E)

Welcome back to The Dark Carnival!

Raleigh Tabletop RPGs' annual horror TTRPG event day is back for 2025 and better than ever! 8 fantastic GMs are here to run 8 sessions of spooky, scary, suspenseful, and even silly chills and thrills at RUMAH in downtown Raleigh.

This event is a sign-up for "Horror at Devil's Run," a game run using Dungeons & Dragons 5E by RTR member Merlyn that will run during the first block of sessions from 11am-3pm. Please see below for all the important details.

Session Title: Horror at Devil's Run
System: Dungeons & Dragons 5E
Players: 4-5
Materials: Dice, pencils and paper will be available, please bring a 5th level character. Pre-Gen characters will be available.
Description: The small farming village of Devil’s Run is about to have its yearly pumpkin festival.

Unbeknownst to many, Old Pete Barker, a pumpkin farmer of many years, was having difficulty growing his pumpkins. Pete doesn’t have an ample water source, unlike Molly Simms, his primary rival for the coveted largest pumpkin award.

Old Pete, fixated on winning the grand prize, made a deal with a dark force. As we know, deals with dark forces are seldom good, and Pete Barker’s deal ended up costing him and the village dearly.
