Join us for a morning of hands-on discovery and community action!

Environmental educator Rachel from Dragonfly Nature Programs will lead a fun, interactive session introducing families to the fascinating mammals of suburbia — from raccoons and foxes to deer and squirrels.

Participants will get to examine real skulls, furs, and scat, learning how to identify which animals share our neighborhoods. Rachel will also share how habitat restoration through litter cleanups helps protect these creatures, and why our personal waste habits matter for local ecosystems and climate health.

After learning about the wildlife around us, we’ll put our knowledge into action with a community litter cleanup right there in the park — helping make Raleigh a healthier home for us and our wild neighbors.

This family-friendly event is free and open to all ages.

Bring your curiosity, your sense of adventure, and your commitment to a cleaner, greener community.
