January Meeting

Details
Hello all.
Our January meeting of The Rationalist Review can now be announced. The only change is that - due to other scheduling conflicts- we will be using one of the study rooms instead of the normal conference room in the Cherry Hills Public library. The study rooms are further inside the library on the Eastern side. Look for a sign,
For the January meeting:
From a Wittgenstein model of language in the human context of the 20th century we will move into language mimicry as a way of thinking as exploration into Consciousness in the 21st century and its relevance to AI (& the LLM revolution) its implementation/consequences.
One of the thinkers at the forefront of this conversation is Historian Yuval Noah Harari. Others can be found of course with other points to add to this conversation (so feel free to search on your own). I only narrowed this list down using Harari as a touchstone and a means to not overload people on this topic.
On consciousness: (I found it pertinent as reference point between his conception of humanity and AI)
An Interview with Sam Harris covering a range of topics that AI may/has influenced
2. https://youtu.be/cEEmc3Qy2K0?si=yPk04GQuWzq8QMtM
A interview with Harari concerning AI and the discrepancy of trust
3. https://youtu.be/FQYGid5uCPk?si=LvE1rpbUrdXAnHAk
An debate/interview directed solely back at AI development & implementation

You of course can find other video sources online as you like.
To also offer some real world scenarios I found just browsing around

Do not let the number limits online here stop you from attending if you wish. I regret that at this time I cannot offer any online meeting services. That maybe able to change in the future with enough -technical- support.
I look forward to seeing all attending and hearing your thoughts.
