Red & White Pickleball Open

The first Red & White Pickleball Open of 2023 is here!

We have brackets for age and skill divisions from 3.0 - 4.5 skill level, for all ages, 50+, 60+ and 70+, and all three game types: gender doubles, mixed doubles, and full court singles. You can play in each game type in these normal brackets for the flat registration fee of $60.

New this tournament are moneyball brackets. These brackets are for 4.0+ players, but are open skill level brackets. Each game type has a moneyball bracket. There is an additional bracket fee of $25 per bracket for moneyball events. 100% of the bracket fee will be paid out to the players that medal in these brackets.

The first 2023 Red & White Pickleball Open will be held March 31 - April 2 at the outdoor tennis courts behind Carmichael Gym on NC State's campus. The registration fee is $60 and there are no bracket fees for the skill/age division brackets. We will be using Pickleball Den for registration.

We asked for feedback from our players last tournament and have upgraded the tournament according to what you asked for! Some of the more notable things are:

1. There will be food available! Every player will get a Chick-fil-A sandwich as part of their registration. With the added option to upgrade to a meal (sandwich, chips, cookie) for $5. You can purchase more meals or sandwiches as part of your registration and there will be a limited number of extra meals and sandwiches for participants to purchase.

2. MORE COURTS! The school is painting 12 more courts for us so that gives us a total of 24 courts to use. This should significantly reduce wait times between games and allow us to not have to change any bracket formats the day of the game.

3. Moneyball brackets. We have added a moneyball bracket to each game type. The bracket fee is $25 and 100% of that fee will go to payouts to the medalists. 55% for 1st, 30% for 2nd, and 15% for third. If you play in a moneyball bracket you can not also play in the skill/age brackets.

4. Added age brackets. We have added 60+ and 70+ age brackets in order to better accommodate everyone that registers.

5. Door prizes and raffle items! We have worked hard to add more sponsors for the tournament. We will have prizes that include two Carolina Hurricanes tickets, paddles, gift cards, and two Takeya water bottles signed by Riley Newman! Each participant gets one free raffle ticket with their registration and can earn more by referring players to sign up (in order to get referral credit, the person you have referred needs to send us a message in the Pickleball Den software once they have registered with the name of the person that referred them). Raffle tickets will also be available for anyone to purchase at the tournament.
