Overcoming Javascript Fatigue with Walker Randolph Smith

Javascript fatigue describes the discord felt when choosing tools given the explosion of choices in the javascript ecosystem. Modularity of tools can cause frustration since it requires the user to piece them together. This talk will demonstrate developing a Node application, highlighting the obstacles faced and why decisions were made to choose javascript tools that solve those problems. Concepts covered will include pure functions, immutablity, and isomorphism while showing them in action given tools like React, Redux, and Immutable.js. In addition, an overview will be given on using development tools for compiling ES2015 using Babel, incorporating React Hot Reloading, and setting up Redux Dev Tools to perform time travel!
