We've arranged an incredible lineup of speakers for you:
Nerando Johnson - "Maximizing Mentorship"
How can one derive the most benefit from a mentorship while offering value to both the mentee and mentor in terms of time and growth? This talk aims to provide practical steps learned from Nerando's experiences, both successes and failures, as part of a coding mentorship group for a year. The presentation will cover the following:
- Grasping the value propositions of the participants (mentee vs. mentor), etc.
- Establishing relationship fundamentals, foundations, and expectations/results.
- Suggestions for time and task management.
- Handling challenges as they arise.
- Recommended reading material (books, articles, and Twitter accounts to follow).
Alex Riviere - "Exploring Vue for React Developers"
React is among the most widely used front-end frameworks, but several misconceptions about Vue exist within the React community. This session will demonstrate converting a React component into a Vue component, which may surprise many React developers!
Abby Perini "Transforming Ideas to Designs for Non-Designers"
You've learned to code and are ready to apply for jobs, but hesitate to share your portfolio. While your app functions well, it might need some design improvements. In this talk, Abby will offer practical advice on turning your idea into a visually appealing page you'll proudly showcase.
Additionally, enjoy a special lightning talk by Stephen Campbell! "Overcoming ADD while Coding"
Diagnosed with ADD, Stephen faced challenges while learning to code. After exploring techniques to enhance focus, he discovered strategies that improved his productivity. He hopes to share these tips with others facing similar situations.
