Capturing High-Frequency Fraud Signals Without the Jank (Niel Ketkar)
Fraud prevention increasingly depends on high-frequency client-side signals—mouse movement, keystroke cadence, and device characteristics. But collect them the wrong way and your app will jank, especially in React, where extra work can quickly snowball into dropped frames and unnecessary re-renders.

In this talk, I’ll walk through how we design signal collection that stays out of the way while operating at real-world scale—processing telemetry from millions of devices per day. We’ll look at capture techniques that avoid UI involvement, batching strategies that reduce network noise without losing fidelity, and off-main-thread approaches (Web Workers, OffscreenCanvas) for expensive browser work.

You’ll walk away with concrete patterns you can use in any frontend to gather richer user signals—without sacrificing performance or user experience.
