Server-Side React: Unlocking Performance and Scalability in Modern Web Apps

This talk aims to de-mystify the various server-side paradigms in React, including Server-Side Rendering and Static Site Generation as well as the new React Server Components and Server Actions coming in React 19.

We will explore paths to implement these concepts into applications, compare them to past React paradigms, and discuss how they will change the landscape of web development going forward.

The presentation will build upon fundamental web development concepts, so all levels of React proficiency are welcome! Questions and group discussion are encouraged throughout the course of the evening.

An interactive follow-along repository will be provided, so please bring your laptop with a current version of Node.js and NPM installed, your IDE of choice (VS Code will be used for demonstration), and a registered GitHub account.
