18:15 Start workshop
In small groups we design and implement an event-sourced system based on Reactive Streams.
Our system will be in the IoT sphere, where millions of devices can send events that need to be processed, and lead to valuable information.
We'll have a couple of IoT devices (Raspberry Pi) on overdrive as they bombard us with events. Our task will be to create a Reactive system that is able to handle that load.
Together we'll explore concepts like:
- Immutable events
- Event stores
- Event brokers
- Replayability
- Eventual consistency
All within a highly scalable and responsive application.
Technology stack of the evening can be made up of: Spring 5 with Project Reactor and parts of RabbitMQ, NATS, Kafka, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
So don't forget to bring your favorite development-device (aka laptop)!
