TypeScript with React Components and building a production app with VulcanJS

Details

Title:
Background: TypeScript with React Components
The TypeScript marketing tagline is “JavaScript that scales.” Let’s put that to test and see it in action. First, let's address the basics to get all on the same page. Then, let's talk about the benefits of TypeScript past all the hype. Finally, we will get into demo time, diving into some of the common mistakes, simple patterns, and interesting paradigm shifts that only happens when the rubber meets the road.

Hi! My name is Alex Maingot, but everybody calls me Mango! I want to build cool software fast. So that means that I love obsessing about developer sanity and developer tools that actually help us write better code faster. Let's face it, we want to focus on the exciting problems that challenge us to think outside of the box! We don’t want to spend cycles on bugs, code formatting, environment setup, and context switches (and that barely scratches the surface). Through this passion, I’ve fallen in love with TypeScript, GraphQL and React, along with a few other developer tools. These are the things that talk about, I hope we talk soon!

Building a production app in days using VulcanJS, a toolkit to quickly build apps with React, GraphQL (Apollo) & Meteor

Background
What if we could build production-ready full stack applications in a matter of days? 20 years ago the market was happy to measure success of development in years! With the rise of Facebook, Google, Twitter, and other modern web companies we've seen a surge in the expectations for Minimum Viable Products (MVPs). People now expect minimal bugs, great UX, and useful software! And of course, the price they want to pay won't necessarily change. Designing and building such products is a lot of work! Since time is money, it would be advisable to spend it wisely!

In this talk we will investigate the variety of tools available in VulcanJS to quickly prototype applications that can be easily maintained, grown, and run in production. We will also build a small example app to showcase some of the great features of Vulcan.
