Code Review: A modern React application with hooks

Reading code is a great way to improve your code or learn new features. In this talk we will jump into a real-world application build using React + Firebase + Hooks. This is a great platform for getting applications up and running quickly, and hooks really make the code easy to understand.

Dustin Mihalik is an engineer at Indeed and builds a lot of small applications and tools in his spare time.

Opening Talk:

Vrbo Associate Software Engineer Phu Phang will share his experience in Vrbo's Career Exploration Program, a program that endeavors to transition non-technical employees into technical roles by teaching JavaScript-based software development. Phu will detail how the program works, the role of React in the training, and what it takes to make such a career change.
