This talk presents Kleinanzeigen's real-world experience and the technical reasons we chose Astro to address critical issues related to performance, self-hosting, and developer velocity that we faced or anticipated with a large-scale Next.js setup.
20:00: Mapping the Future: Building Interactive Dashboards with Mapbox/MapLibre and Vector Tiles in React

Join us for a 30-minute deep dive into the powerful world of interactive mapping in React.
First, a React developer will walk you through using Mapbox and its open-source counterpart MapLibre within a React application. You’ll learn how to integrate these libraries, build performant and interactive map-based dashboards, and explore tips for handling dynamic data, custom layers, and user interactions in a modern React environment.
The second half will feature a data scientist who will demystify the process behind the maps. They’ll explain how vector tiles are generated, optimized, and served and walk through real-world examples of geospatial data processing pipelines. You’ll gain a clear understanding of how the backend work empowers your front-end visualizations.
