ReactJS Girls Online #2

Details

Hi Folks,

We're really happy to announce our second ReactJS Girls online event!

We started 2021 with something completely new to us, a virtual Meetup, and we had such an amazing response we couldn't wait to start working on the next.

The meetup will be on the 22nd of April, 5pm (GMT) and we have three speakers confirmed:

  1. Laura Beatris, Software Engineer at YLD

'How not to over-engineer state management solutions'
Since React was created, a lot of different state management solutions arose, both shipped within the library itself or other third-party options such as Redux and Recoil. State management may be achieved using the wrong tools and architectures, resulting in bad performance and maintenance. In this talk, we're going to go through topics that will clarify the choices around state management when building a project.

  1. Gilly Ames, Front end team lead at Octopus Energy

'Global expansion using React, GraphQL and Storybook'
How to support a live product while white labelling it for roll out in new countries and markets.

  1. Joey Imlay and Paulina Orawczak, Software Engineers at LADbible Group

'Let’s go, gamers: how we made the GAMING bible menu'
A case study of a complex React component that brings together several pieces of web technology.
