🎙 Our Speakers

The Bet Behind React Server Components - Manuel Unterhofer

With Server Components, the React core team promises us a solution to the biggest problem of every single SPA out there: Shipping tons of code. Let's look at the assumptions they made, the decisions they are taking, and most importantly, when this will pay off!

Manuel is a developer and Consultant at Netlight. He is trying to improve the way we build and use technology. To him, the fun starts where the Google results end.

Wait a second, in which State are we? - Rubèn Suet Marcos

Five years ago, Redux seemed to be the way to go regarding State Management. A really young Mobx was recently released, and had to grow up. Times have changed, so our libraries did as well. Redux, Mobx, React Context, Apollo, Xstate, Recoil. Which of them are really a state management or they just help to organise your project?

This talk presents you the evolution of the last 5 years in the frontend application for MediaMarktSaturn Engineering regarding the way we manage our state. What are our learnings, what are our failures and in which direction we want to go in order to scale in a healthy and robust way.

Rubèn is a Frontend Engineer that is always curious about new technologies and approaches. Constantly checking what are the new hypes in the React community. Currently working in one of the top e-shops in Europe: MediaMarktSaturn.

Design Strategies for Frontend Developers (feat. Tailwind CSS) - Robin Andersson

As a frontend developer you might sometimes get the opportunity (or be required) to design user interfaces in the absence of a dedicated designer. Without experience, just knowing where to start can be a real challenge, let alone to produce something impressive.

This talk aims to provide you with initial design strategies to set you on a clear path. It will also introduce Tailwind CSS (a “utility-first” and “functional” CSS framework) which fits in nicely with this narrative, and provides you with tools to create stunning user interfaces fast and easy.

Robin is a fullstack JS-developer and designer at Netlight. Currently working as a frontend developer at a fintech company in Stockholm.

⚡️- Talk: Mob Programming in a Remote Environment - William Bruce

Mob programming is excellent for onboarding new colleagues, creating a shared ownership of the code and can also help with reducing lead time and context switching. And keeping your mood up while working remotely! However, mob programming remotely poses new problems like slow handovers.

This talk will present a great tool for making mob programming handovers almost as smooth as switching seats back in the old days.

William is a fullstack developer at Netlight. Currently working as a frontend developer at a fintech company in Stockholm.
