Ideal for beginners, Mike's talk will walk through the process of creating a basic React application. We'll go over the setup, explain the structure of a React project, and demonstrate how to build a simple, interactive UI using React components and our favorite UI library MUI along with some basic fetch requests. Bring your laptop, and let's build something together!

Mike works as a senior engineer at Text-Em-All by day and co-runs Presto Assistant when he should be sleeping. He's been using React daily since late 2015, most of the time alongside the team that created Material-UI at Text-Em-All. In early 2016 he started the ReactJS Dallas meetup and continues to help organize monthly events. Mike enjoys spending time with his spouse and three children and also building nice user experiences for the world.

We will be at the Text-Em-All office in Frisco, TX in SUITE 900. Follow the signs — the entrance is on the side of the building facing the Dallas North Tollway.

There will be pizza and non-alcoholic drinks. Wear a mask if you feel more comfortable that way!
