AI Meetup in Wroclaw with Callstack & Vercel

Details
Callstack has been investing in AI, exploring how it transforms the way we build software. Together with Vercel, sponsoring the event as part of their new Meetup SDK program, we’re hosting a community meetup in Wrocław to share what we’ve been working on and where the field is heading.
The timing couldn’t be better: on September 2nd at Concordia Design, just before React Universe Conf kicks off, we’ll bring together top speakers from around the world for an evening focused on developer-first AI. You’ll hear about running LLMs on-device in React Native, what’s new in Vercel’s AI SDK 5, adapting React apps for TV, and how AI can support the rest of a developer’s workflow.
Expect practical insights, live demos, and perspectives from teams already applying AI in production.

## Talks
#### React Native AI: Bringing On-Device LLMs with AI SDK by Szymon Rybczak, Callstack
The AI SDK makes it easier to build sophisticated AI features that work both online and offline. In this talk, Szymon will show how we created React Native AI, a custom AI SDK provider that runs local LLMs right inside React Native apps. You’ll learn why AI SDK was chosen as the foundation, how provider architecture works, and how we integrated with MLC LLM Engine and Apple’s foundation models. We’ll wrap up with a live demo switching seamlessly between OpenAI’s cloud models and local, on-device LLMs, all using the same API.
#### AI SDK 5: What’s New and What’s Next by Lars Grammel, Vercel
AI SDK 5 brings a wave of new features and improvements for developers building AI-driven applications. Lars will guide you through what’s changed, from API updates to new capabilities, and explain how these features can improve your workflow. Whether you’re using AI SDK for cloud, on-device, or hybrid AI, you’ll leave knowing exactly what’s possible in version 5 and how to start using it.
#### Spec-Driven-Development with Kiro.dev by Eric Fahsl, Amazon
Your React app may shine on mobile and desktop, but TVs are a different beast. In this lightning talk, Eric will demonstrate how [Kiro.dev](https://kiro.dev/), Amazon’s AI coding assistant, helps adapt mobile React components for the living room. Using a spec-driven approach, you’ll see how to build TV-safe layouts, implement D-pad navigation and focus management, and keep performance snappy on lower-powered devices. Expect concrete design tips and a fresh look at how AI can accelerate cross-platform development.
#### AI for the other parts of your technical job by Rafael Mendiola, Hinge Health
Coding is just one piece of a developer’s workload. Presentations, documentation, proposals, and note-taking often take up just as much time. In this talk, Rafael will show how AI makes it possible to build custom tools tailored to your workflow in hours, not weeks. You’ll see how to create a presentation engine with Vite + React that generates styled slide decks in minutes, and a developer notebook built with Astro that serves as a collaborative space with your AI agent. Along the way, you’ll learn how to use AI to research your codebase, draft technical notes, and turn exploration sessions into lasting, searchable documentation.
