John Keats (1795-1821) is a poet who wrote not long, narrative poems but also, perhaps more famously, shorter lyric poems of great intensity. These poems of address – or ‘odes’ – issues of morality, love and beauty. At a previous meeting we read three of his six great odes. In this meeting we will read their companion poems (texts can be found at poetryfoundation.org): ‘Ode to a Nightingale’; ‘Ode to Psyche’, and ‘To Autumn.’
