We will take a journey through Reading’s changing landscape — exploring the projects that have shaped the town, the buildings and spaces that have been lost or preserved, and the major changes and challenges that continue to transform Reading’s built environment.

Reading Civic Society is an independent, voluntary organisation that has been working to promote pride in our town, improve our built environment and celebrate our heritage since 1962.
Richard will present and facilitate discussion on the recent history and future of development in Reading. He has lived in Reading since 1986 and is a longstanding member of Reading Civic Society.

Our monthly talks are on the 3rd Tuesday at the Quaker Meeting House (with a break in August) and are typically followed by a Q&A or discussion. Tea and coffee are available at the start of the meeting.
