***Moving to Facebook ***
We have been running Reading Out and About on Meetup since 2016 and have managed to weather the covid lockdowns due to help from another group, which we thank them for.
Please note from 3rd November 2024 we are moving Reading Out and About to Facebook.  Please use this link:  Reading Out and About (Meetup) | Facebook . The same hosts myself, Lins, Donna and Filomena will be running the Facebook Group.   This is due to Meetup HQ in the USA doubling the cost of running the group on their platform to near on £200 (Inc VAT) for 6 months. We have decided that £400  a year to run such a group is too much given the current cost of living and also the reason from Meetup for this hike in costs.  They are looking to introduce AI to the platform and like many other groups, we do not see the benefit this would have for the group.  We run this group for fun and our own benefit along with that of our members to continue socialising and making friends.   The last event will be at The Gateway pub on 2nd November.   However, we look forward to continuing events from 3rd November on Facebook and look forward to welcoming you to our Facebook group.  Reading Out and About (Meetup) | Facebook.
