The Hundred Schools of Preimperial China - (GMEIT 8/36)
Details
Hi Ubermenschs,
After a fun 6 months of reading A History of Western Philosophy during COVID, lets now try our hand at Eastern Philosophy. This time on audio!
To do to this we will listen to the 36 lecture series, Great Minds of the Eastern Intellectual Tradition (GMEIT) by Professor Grant Hardy.
About the lecture series:
This epic and comprehensive 36-lecture examination of the East's most influential philosophers and thinkers - from a much-honored teacher and scholar - offers a thought-provoking look at the surprising connections and differences between East and West. By introducing you to the people-including The Buddha, Ashoka, Prince Shotoku, Confucius, and Gandhi - responsible for molding Asian philosophy and for giving birth to a wide variety of spiritual and ideological systems, it will strengthen your knowledge of cultures that play increasingly important roles in our globalized 21st-century world.
We plan to listen to a lecture each week by ourselves in advance and then join to discuss the content. Each lecture is around 30 minutes long. Please listen in advance of attending this meetup.
If you haven't listened to the lecture you can join the meetup as an observer but please join and stay quiet. The discussion is reserved for those who listened to the lecture in advance.
