Plutarch Parallel Lives: Artaxerxes

This is the only biography Plutarch wrote about a non-Greek or non-Roman figure, Artaxerxes (also know as Artaxerxes II or Mnemonic "the Mindful") was the successor to Darius II and reigned from 404 to 358 BC. His reigned followed the Peloponisian War and during which he overseen the Ionian Greek cities to get back under Persian rule.

His biography is also written in "Age of Alexander" published by Penguin.
This is a reading group in which we read from Plutarch's Parallel Lives about the virtues and faults of great leaders from ancient Greece and Rome. At the end of each life, we rate them for their leadership quality, virtues, entertaining reading, and legacy.
