Join our friendly and enthusiastic group of readers as we enjoy reading and discussing Paradise Lost. Our group has been meeting for over three years, exploring such works as Don Quixote, The Divine Comedy, The Aeneid, Candide, a selection of stories and essays by Jorge Luis Borges, The Canterbury Tales, and most recently, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. We meet via Zoom on Sunday nights from 7-8:30 p.m. EDT.

Our reading schedule has yet to be finalized, but for this Sunday, November 1, we will be reading and discussing Book I. Depending on how we progress, we may divide certain books up into two parts rather than attempting to cover an entire book in a single week. During this first week, in particular, we will certainly be spending some time talking about the background and context of Milton's great work, including and especially details of his biography. We are very focused on close reading, and also enjoy bringing a variety of secondary sources to our discussions. These secondary sources are shared during our sessions, and also via email.

This group is organized through a email distribution list.
***If you are interested in joining us, please email me: nagold@yahoo.com

Please be aware that we often email each other during the week to offer information about secondary sources, and to talk about ideas and thoughts we've had.
