Expand your knowledge of the world; and explore issues, ideas, and themes from fiction authors from countries around the globe.
An English language book club, (although we do not discourage comments in cast or cat if you want to ensure clarity in putting across your idea or comment!) I seek out interesting books and authors from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and S. America. About 2/3s of our chosen authors are women.
The chosen books are always available in e-book format, and when possible, available in the BCN xarxa de bibliotecas.
We meet monthly, on Wednesday or Thursday evenings, in El Raval north, in a charming cafe, easily accessible by public transport. We would love to have you join us!
**** Rules & Regulations****
We understand all of us are busy and we have commitments around work, family etc. but we have certain rules just to ensure that we remain on track with out reading :)
- Readers who sign up should be punctual and at least try to join 1 meeting within 4 months else you might be at risk of getting dropped off from the members list , however we do have exceptions to the rule ;) in cases of genuine reasons.
- Please try to remove yourself from attendees list if you are certain you will not able to join way in advance. This is to ensure we have as less carbon footprint as possible. We send lots of emails and reminders and we are cognizant that we send only to those who will attend :)
