Our "Book" Club turns into a "Books & Beyond" Club!

What is this about?
Historical context is an essential part of literature, and without it, events, memories and characters have less meaning. In addition to our monthly book discussion gatherings, we'll have Documentary Movie Nights to gain a better understanding of historical or cultural settings behind the works we are reading.

Next Documentary Movie Night:
As a lead-up to our discussion of Hua Yu's novel "China in Ten Words" next month, we'll watch an "Inside Mao's China” documentary in this session.

Who can join?
Those who joined the prior book club discussions have priority due to limited space.

What should I bring?
We'll be meeting at our apartment, so there'll be tea & snacks but you're welcome to bring something for the group to share. There'll also be a donation box if you'd like to contribute to the Meetup fees/ thank us for organizing.
